Dig Deep 2021 – Race Day information

Dig Deep 2021 is rapidly approaching, and there’s some key information all entrants need to know. There’s some stuff that’s different, and some stuff that’s staying the same. Below is all the info you need:

General race weekend information:

  • Race HQ is at Hangram Lane Farm, S11 7TQ. Start, finish, car parking and camping are here.
  • The site will be open for campers from 4pm on Friday 27th. If you wish to camp but didn’t book it with your entry you can still get in touch with us to save a spot. Camping is £5 and can be paid on arrival (but booking in advance is needed).
  • Beta Sports will be on site over the weekend with test kit, plus items from Injinji, Icebug and Ultimate Direction to buy.
  • There is drinking water and toilets on site, plus a farm shop selling local produce and cold drinks. You are welcome to use stoves whilst on site, however please do not use BBQs or open fires.
  • Race numbers and timing bands can be collected from MyRaceKit North from Tuesday 24th August 10am until Friday 27th at 12pm. After this numbers can be collected from race HQ. MyRaceKit North are offering a 10% discount on shoes in store when you are collecting your number.
  • Your timing band is linked to your number and must not be swapped with anyone else’s band. Please do not forget it on race day, and make sure you drop it in the labelled tub at the end of the race. Lost bands will be charged at £5.
  • Race starts will be mass starts (unless regulations change before then). There is plenty of space to maintain a safe distance between runners, please make the most of this.
  • There will be a race briefing 15 minutes before the start of each event. Please make sure you pay attention as there may be last minute information.
  • Pacers are not allowed to run with entrants. You are welcome to have supporters meet and cheer you on along the route, but please make sure they do not impede any other competitors.
  • The races take place on public footpaths and roads. These are being used by the general public, so please act respectfully towards everyone. We have no more right to be there than anyone else!
  • The races follow set routes. Anyone found to be deviating from these risks disqualification.
  • We operate a zero tolerance policy for littering. Anyone found to be doing so faces immediate disqualification. All checkpoints will have rubbish bags, so hold onto your litter until these points.
  • There will be no disposable cups available, so please make sure you have your own drink container.
  • Each runner will receive a medal on finishing.
  • Entrants who have pre-ordered t-shirts can collect them along with their medal at the finish. There will be a small number of spare t-shirts available to buy on the day on a first come first served basis at a price of £10.
  • Please do not attend the race if you have any symptoms of covid-19, or if you have been asked to isolate by NHS Track and Trace. We will not require evidence of negative tests prior to the race, so please act responsibly.
  • If you need to withdraw from the race you must contact Jon on 07974951522 to let us know. We can then arrange to have you collected or you can choose to make your own way home. Put this number in your phone now.
